ICELAND!

When you find the cheapest flights to Europe from Boston, you will find them on Icelandair.  You will be given an offer you cannot refuse:  6 hours to 6 days layover in Iceland for no extra charge.  We took two days to see the land of ice, and wish we had taken more.

Genevieve and Oliver (pushing Adler), world travelers

A momentary pause for the camera as they rush to the gate (to wait for three hours)

The ghost of Constance St. Clair Schuchardt, who DID come with us!

Today's exchange rate

Funny money

Walker and Constance onboard Icelandair

Really just a local flight

Jasper grapples the moonlike lava rock mounds at the Blue Lagoon

The men in the men's room, with men's robes (manly, no?)

It really is a BLUE lagoon

Chesterton enters into the warm mystery

Rachel loses ten years in five minutes

Oliver floaties

Genevieve floaties

Dadler and Adler (who did not trust the floaties to work)

Genevieve learns how to float on her back...
.... and masters it quickly

Then she decides to get cold, before getting warm again

Chesterton chillaxes with a cold drink in a warm bath, while exfoliating the past year away

Jasper extremely proud of his blue crushed ice beverage, and facial mask

Chesterton getting younger

Jasper entered the blue lagoon at age 11, departed at age 8 -- very impressive!

Dadler gets Adler warm, with one large bathrobe

Adler and Dadler, after a large buffet lunch of smoked salmon and other Icelandic goodies

Vivi can fall asleep anywhere

Mom and Dad and Adler after lunch

Genevieve rocks her japanese Hello Kitty shirt

Family after the event -- see how much younger we all look?

That afternoon we found a most excellent playground in downtown Reykjavik.  And look how LARGE Adler's hands are!

Rachel gets Icelandic-wool-sweatery warm, cuz she was cold

The angel sleeps

Our Russian student friend, Ivan, meets up with us in Reykjavik, and poses in a group photo with the ghost of Constance.

Chesterton appreciates the branding genius behind Doritos Cool Ranch chips, which in Europe go by the name "Cool American"

Genevieve Schuchardt, world traveller

A great advertisement (for a sporting goods store in Iceland) seen at the airport.  Amen to that!

Icelandair is everything and more we hoped for -- wonderful service, flight, and treatment of our kids
