Rachel and six of the kids (Mercer was already in England) got to spend a week with Grandfather John and Grandmother Carrie in Ipswich, MA while I was in Japan.  When I arrived on August 14th, I got to spend one glorious day, having breakfast and conversation with my father, then spending the afternoon at Crane's Beach with the kids and Lisa, a student from Germany visiting the House of Peace for three weeks.
